Moving from buying random UV lamps to launching your own brand is a big jump. It’s a lot more than just sticking a logo on a box. You’re basically designing a machine that has to balance raw power with heat control—and if you get that balance wrong, things break. That’s where we come in. Getting the Light Right
Everything starts with the wavelength. If you’re into sterilization, we’re looking at the 254nm UVC range. That’s the sweet spot for knocking out microbial DNA. But if you’re curing resins or inks? We shift over to UVA or UVB to get those photoinitiators moving. Then there’s the wattage. You’ve got to weigh your conveyor speed against the size of your chamber. Sure, cranking up the wattage means you can push more product through the line. But it also puts a lot more stress on your ballasts. It’s a balancing act.
Hardware and the “Cheap Glass” Trap
We use high-purity fused quartz for our envelopes. Why? Because it actually lets the UV light through. Here’s the thing: if you try to cut corners with cheap glass, the UV radiation just bounces back or gets absorbed. The tube heats up, gets stressed, and eventually just burns out. It’s a headache you don’t want. We also offer a bunch of different connector types, so these lamps just slide right into existing machinery without a fight. But watch out for the heat. High-output lamps throw off a ton of IR radiation. If you’re working with plastics that melt or warp easily, you can’t just wing it. You’ll need an active cooling system or some filtered quartz to keep your materials from ruining.
